The Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) of the Responsible Use of AI (RUAI) designs and builds technical oversight of AI. This role is inherently cross-functional. The Principal TPM will work closely with engineering, data science, AI DevOps, legal and regulatory, and executive teams to develop and drive the technical product roadmap across the organization. The roadmap enables teams to become and remain good responsible citizens of using AI by establishing the required technical oversight of AI that includes AI master data governance and control, documentation and training, performance monitoring of ML models and performance alert system. By setting clear business goals for the program and developing a pragmatic well-written roadmap, the TPM works across teams to manage and execute on the vision to deliver a direct measurable impact on innovations in healthcare.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across organizations to deliver high quality customer focused products and services
  • Create program/project plans, secure commitments, identify risks and mitigations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics
  • Define and use metrics to report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior leadership
  • Directly lead the design, execution, and delivery of a highly complex cross-functional project in an ambiguous new technology area
  • Demonstrate good judgement skills by making well informed data-driven decisions
  • Develop deep technical knowledge and expertise in the core technologies used
  • Apply knowledge to invent, evolve, improve, and simplify technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 7+ years of technical program management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating release schedules


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Experience in the health care field
  • Proficient in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, distributed systems, or similar engineering or technical product development
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Technical knowledge of applied machine learning
  • Specific examples of using creative solutions to solve problems and accelerate programs
  • Experience analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience communicating verbally and written to different stakeholders across multiple business units and to senior leadership
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly collaborative, ambiguous work environment
