SUMMARY: Responsible for the successful planning, execution and delivery of awarded cargo by ensuring the identified requirements are met, delivered timely and within budget without compromising quality .

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages project initiation activities that include identifying contractual obligations, client needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts, and access to existing information as needed. Develops, defines, and executes project plans, project scope, activities, schedules, budgets and deliverables. Manages project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals are achieved. Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed. Conducts project closure activities to formalize and communicate the project acceptance, documentation delivery and ongoing activities to accountable teams, and complete a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement. Identifies project management coordination process gaps or areas for improvement and recommends and implements solutions. Collaborates across business units to onboard new vendors, automate request for task order proposal analysis, and proper vetting of involved parties through risk and liability evaluations. Liaises with finance team to ensure all accounts payable and receivable are kept within aging guidelines, and action the team as needed to fix problems ahead of any milestones. References analytical methods to evaluate options and make recommendations for strategies of focus and bidding task orders. Collects, reviews and publishes project status reports for resources, schedule, stakeholder management, and features that influence project performance and completion.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of project management experience preferably in government logistics, contract management, import/export transportation, supply chain management or customer service.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Intermediate proficiency in Salesforce, and GovWin in addition to utilizing project management software.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to assist and define program objectives, project requirements and coordinating implementation efforts. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in various stages of completion that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to assess project risks and exposures; identify options and alternatives, make decisions and implement corrective actions. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives. Knowledge of project management, planning and cost control management.

OTHER: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification preferred.

JOB SCOPE: Position impacts a single business unit/segment.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.

FLSA Status: The position is Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. All work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health are expected to be respected and complied with.
