The ScrumMaster is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Make sure a Scrum team lives by the values and practices of Scrum
- Coach the Delivery Team and do anything possible to help the team perform at their highest level. This involves removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings, and doing things like working with the Product Owner to make sure the product backlog is in good shape and ready for the next sprint
- Ensure Scrum theory and practices are understood and enacted (even help those outside the Delivery Team understand so the value can be maximized)
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and enforces time boxes
- Embrace and role model Agile Principles
- Teach, mentor, guide, and coach the Delivery Team (and organization) on Agile/Scrum/Kanban/Lean principles and practices
- Coach the Delivery Team in self-organization and cross-functionality
- Help remove organizational and team impediments to agility and progress
- Assist Delivery Team and Product Owner with relentless and continuous improvement in processes and product delivery
- Embrace and role model servant leadership
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on growth and problem-solving
- Empower the Delivery Team and facilitates getting the work done without coercion, assigning or dictating the work
- Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and radiating (making visible) information
- Work with other ScrumMasters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum and/or agility in the organization
- Support and educate the Product Owner and Delivery Team, especially with respect to refining (grooming) and managing the backlog
- Serve and enable the Product Owner and Delivery Team in their quest to delight customers
- Help the Delivery Team learn and mature so they can reduce their dependence on the ScrumMaster
- Knowledge of numerous patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum Framework
Qualifications:
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- At least 8 years of working experience in a software development environment out of which at least 3 years as a Scrum Master
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the Information Technology (IT) industry
- Scrum master, product owner, or equivalent agile/scrum leadership experience
- Excellent Jira and Jira Align knowledge
- Experience in Agile/SAFe methodologies including tools used for work planning and tracking such as; Rally, Jira, etc.
