The Global Programs Advisor will share responsibility in the coordination, implementation and advising of study abroad programs including sending Creighton students to other countries through Creighton-In (affiliate), exchange, Faculty-Led, and non-affiliate program partners. The Global Programs Advisor is an important position that supports the Creighton University mission to educate global citizens and provide an integrating vision of the world through a comprehensive education that prepares students to contribute to the betterment of society in an increasingly complex world.

Shared Duties and Responsibilities
This list is not exhaustive but represents the main shared responsibilities of the position. Some duties may be shared with the Sr. Global Programs Coordinator and supported by GEO administrative support (as available) in a manner that enhances efficiency of processes yet assures that all duties are covered at all times:
• Integrate Creighton's Ignatian mission and vision in all University-sponsored programs.• Coordinate advisement and assistance of students for successful international service and study abroad experiences.• Recruit Creighton University students for participation in all education abroad programs;
o Organize, advertise and conduct orientation meetings and informational meetings to recruit students;
o Process and track applications; manage online application and registration process;
o Coordinate student selection process;
o Provide information sessions regarding the programs for students, parents, faculty and staff;
o Prepare acceptance communication and program packets for students.• Provide timely and accurate communication with students and other stakeholders through e-mail and phone communication, on-campus and virtual events, and support during experiences abroad as well as communication with parents when appropriate.• Serve as GEO Study Abroad liaison with Creighton schools / colleges and other relevant units.• May assist in coordinating and/or overseeing the Study Abroad Peer Ambassador program.• Communicate proactively and regularly with students, relevant Creighton faculty and staff, program sponsors, and host/home universities regarding students' academic progress.• Participate in special programming that supports internationalization of the Creighton campus, such as cross-cultural education events, International Education Week, etc.• Manage program-specific advising responsibilities and administrative duties as assigned.• Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in area related to global studies. Previous experience studying abroad. Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. Effective computer skills (e-mail, web design, spreadsheets, etc.). Two years' experience as study abroad advisor, knowledge of at least one language other than English, and graduate education preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Previous experience studying abroad.
Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Effective computer skills (e-mail, web design, spreadsheets, etc.).
Organizational skills.
Analytical skills required.
