Job Description:

The Project Support Associate is responsible for supporting manufacturing, facilities, and operational improvement projects through installation, maintenance, repair, and project implementation activities. This role contributes to organizational objectives by assisting with equipment moves, facility modifications, infrastructure improvements, and capital project execution. The position works closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established specifications. This role plays a key part in supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Primary Duties:

  • Perform project tasks assigned by engineering, operations, and project management personnel.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, modification, and relocation of manufacturing equipment, facility infrastructure, and project-related assets.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, or replace electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic components as needed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and specifications to support project execution.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to perform assigned tasks.
  • Perform basic carpentry, fabrication, welding, and assembly activities to support facility and production needs.
  • Assist with facility remodeling, renovation, and construction-related projects.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, work completed, and material usage.
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors, and leadership to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper storage of tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, and other material handling equipment as required.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support equipment commissioning and startup activities.
  • Assist with vendor and contractor coordination during project execution.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to facilities, equipment, and operations.
  • Support preventative maintenance and facility improvement projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, facilities support, project support, or a related technical field,
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred:

  • Experience with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or mechanical systems.
  • Material handling equipment certifications, Lockout/Tagout training, rigging experience, welding experience, or related technical certifications preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Basic welding, fabrication, carpentry, and construction skills.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with standard office software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Ability to interpret technical information and follow detailed work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and leadership.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in elevated work areas exceeding 3 feet.
  • Ability to use fine and gross motor skills for tool handling, equipment operation, fabrication, and repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and project-related machinery.

Work Environment:

  • Perform all work on-site within manufacturing, warehouse, facilities, and project environments.
  • Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, dust, and industrial conditions.
  • Regular interaction with production, maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, powered industrial equipment, welding operations, and construction activities.
  • Compliance with all applicable safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • This role is classified as a Safety Sensitive Position, requiring heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
