Purpose
The focus of the Project Scheduler position will be creating, updating, and analyzing project schedules, resource loading and allocation utilizing Primavera P6.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Scheduling
Utilize Primavers P6 to develop comprehensive project schedules, considering all project phases from sales and engineering to procurement, production, testing and delivery
Work closely with project managers, engineers, planning, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
Analyze project scope, milestones, and deliverables to create accurate and achievable schedules.
Ensure adherence to project timelines and identify potential scheduling conflicts or risks.
Conduct regular schedule updates, track progress and communicate any deviations to the project team
Implement earned value management techniques, including tracking and analyzing project performance using metrics such as Planned Value, Earned Value and Actual Cost
Resource Loading and Allocation
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify resource requirements for each project phase
Allocate resources efficiently to optimize project schedules and ensure the availability of required resources.
Monitor resource utilization, identify overlaods or imbalances, and propose appropriate adjustments.
Conduct resource leveling to address conflicts and bottlenecks, ensuring optimal resource allocation across multiple projects
Microsoft Excel
Levearage intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills to perform data analysis, create complex formulas, and generate reports related to project scheduling, resource utilzation, earned value and performance tracking
Communication and Collaboration
Communicate project schedules, updates, and critical milestones effectively with project managers, engineers, planning and other stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary project information and ensure alignment between project schedules and other project-related activites.
Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify and address potential scheduling conflicts, resource constraints, or project risks.
Present projct schedules, resource allocation plans and performance metrics to project stakeholders, providing clear and concise explanations.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Must have a minimum three (3) years of experience in planning/scheduling
- Must have three (3) years’ experience managing project schedules in an industrial environment throughout a project’s typical life cycle (Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Testing, and Delivery)
DESIRED
- Experience with Enovia and PeopleSoft
- Profiecient with Microsoft Excel: expertise in complex formulas and functions, pivot tables, macros
- Knowledge of integrating Primavera P6 with other enterprise systems, such as enterprise resource planning software.
Experience with Power BI dashboards

Working Conditions
- Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
- Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place.
- Work surface is stable (flat).
