What you will be responsible for: 

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Controller to join our team. The Project Controller will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules and ensuring that timelines align with project goals and objectives. This role involves collaborating with Site leads, resource manager, and other stakeholders to ensure that project plans clear, updated and accurate, risks and delays are flagged, and resources are effectively allocated so that projects are completed on time. 

What you’ll do:

  • Set up, update & maintain project schedules using scheduling software (e.g, Primavera Cloud & Smartsheet) based on historical project data and existing templates. 

  • Utilize Advanced Work Packaging and Takt Planning methodologies to optimize project schedules and generate manageable work packages for execution. 

  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to update schedules based on project specific scope, deliverables, and milestones. 

  • Monitor project progress and update schedules weekly, identifying potential delays and proposing solutions. 

  • Identify & track risks to project timelines and work with project team members to implement strategies to mitigate delays. 

  • Maintain documentation of project changes, schedule adjustments, and relevant communications impacting project schedules 

  • Prepare regular reports on schedule performance, progress, and potential risks. 

  • Facilitate schedule review meetings and communicate updates to stakeholders. 

  • Develop and maintain portfolio level schedules to manage and report across projects and/or regions. 

  • Support resource allocation and workforce planning to optimize project efficiency across all projects within the portfolio 

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards. 

  • Track labor, material & equipment usage by activity to inform future schedules & resource planning. 

  • Track and implement necessary changes or improvements across all active projects to ensure learnings are being capitalized upon. 

  • Maintain and improve existing project schedule template to continue to reflect as closely as possible the most optimized schedule. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience as a Project Scheduler in the construction industry (3+ years preferred). 

  • Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, etc.). 

  • Familiarity with construction processes and methodologies. 

  • Experience in critical path method (CPM) scheduling. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the US construction field. 

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.  

  • Ability to respectfully voice opinions, gracefully receive feedback, and collaboratively analyze and resolve problems. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Project Management is a plus. 

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools. 

  • Knowledge of subcontractor management and procurement processes. 

  • Experience in industrialized construction. 

  • Experience at an early-stage or growth startup. 

  • Experience with lean, agile, pull planning or takt planning. 

  • Experience working with the Trades.
