This role provides independent oversight and assurance across engineering and procurement, including monitoring the quality performance of third-party contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors. The Project Quality Manager serves as the focal point for promoting a strong quality culture, transparent reporting, and disciplined execution throughout the project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Management System & Plan: Develop, maintain, and control project-specific Quality Plans and procedures aligned with Audubon’s corporate QMS and Quality Manual.
  • Project Quality Leadership: Serve as the project authority for QA/QC; coordinate with Project Management and Quality Leadership; resolve quality issues; and independently escalate significant quality risks and nonconformances as appropriate.
  • Vendor Quality: Oversee vendor NCR issuance and closure, and compliance with approved specifications, drawings, codes, MIRs, and client requirements.
  • Audits & Corrective Action: Support or conduct internal and external audits; document and close findings; reduce repeat findings through root-cause analysis; and drive continual improvement.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Establish project quality objectives and KPIs; analyze trends and escalate deteriorating quality performance. Maintain traceable quality records, NCRs, corrective actions, audit records, and Quality Plans; report QA/QC activities and metrics to project and quality leadership.
  • Compliance & Customer Satisfaction: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, certifications, contractual requirements, and client standards; support supplier evaluations; and address quality-related client concerns.
  • Training & Quality Culture: Promote the Quality Policy and quality as a personal responsibility; support competency development, management reviews, and implementation of resulting actions. Drive continuous improvement by facilitating root cause analysis, lessons learned, and systemic improvement actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.

 Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies’ Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

 EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent project quality experience.
  • Experience: Demonstrated QA/QC experience on complex engineering, procurement, and construction projects, including QMS implementation, audits, NCR management, and corrective actions. Typically, 10+ years of progressive experience in engineering, construction, fabrication, procurement, or EPC project environments, including significant experience in senior project quality assurance leadership roles.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, engineering drawings, specifications, and client requirements for the assigned business line.
  • Certifications & Quality Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management principles and their practical application within complex capital projects, EPC delivery models, and contractor assurance programs is required. Professional quality accreditation such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent recognized quality auditing certification is preferred.
  • Leadership: Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate across Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, HSE, Project Management, suppliers, and clients.
  • Key Competencies: Risk-based thinking, continual improvement, timely audit/NCR closure, ethical conduct, integrity, and commitment to safety and quality.
