Roles and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Lead the development and management of integrated project schedules — from bid through to handover.
- Coordinate across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, site works, and commissioning.
- Maintain baseline schedules, perform updates, and support change control processes.
- Ensure all stakeholders and suppliers are aligned with key milestones and delivery timelines.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent the planning function in customer and internal meetings.
- Deliver clear and confident schedule presentations.
- Support commercial teams with schedule-related contract terms and reporting requirements.
- Lead schedule impact assessments for variation orders and internal changes.
Schedule Risk Management
- Identify schedule risks and opportunities early.
- Drive proactive mitigation and support recovery planning.
- Develop “what-if” scenarios and critical path analyses to optimise execution.
Earned Value & Reporting
- Produce schedule-driven insights like Earned Value Analysis (EVA).
- Track progress and report performance to internal teams and customers with clarity and confidence.
What You’ll Bring
- A strong background in project planning for complex engineering programs, ideally in defence, marine, or industrial sectors.
- Experience managing multiple projects in a high-paced, matrixed environment.
- Familiarity with PMI or equivalent project management methodologies.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, data analysis).
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with a professional, stakeholder-focused approach.
You should have the right to work in the UK, and the potential to achieve higher levels of security clearance (SC).
