About This Opportunity

Join the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) as a Project Officer supporting the delivery of the Threatened Species Index. In this collegial, high performing team, you will contribute to nationally significant biodiversity monitoring by coordinating project activities, supporting stakeholder engagement, and ensuring high quality project delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced, grant funded research infrastructure environment, helping translate environmental data into meaningful outcomes that support conservation and policy.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting delivery across all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation.

  • Organising and supporting project activities such as meetings, events, stakeholder consultations and communications.

  • Managing project documentation, including data entry, record keeping and document control.

  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement activities and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.

  • Acting as a central point of contact, managing incoming queries, customer management, and user support for the Index.

About You

You are a detail oriented and adaptable project professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and delivering high quality outcomes under pressure.

  • Degree in a relevant discipline with subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education training, with exposure to project coordination or administration.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and support project delivery in a complex environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging stakeholders and providing high level customer service.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft365 and experience working with systems to manage information and documentation.

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools, where exposure to R-packages, Python, and/or Jupyter Notebooks will be highly advantageous.

  • A genuine interest in environmental science, threatened species, or conservation research.
