The Project Manager will manage customer project efforts and deliver exceptional customer service throughout the lifecycle of complex projects lasting approximately 6 months or longer. The Project Manager will be an exceptional representative of Red River and maintain the highest standards of professionalism, attention to detail, and responsiveness to customer requests. The Project Manager will be the main point of contact for our customers and will manage the day-to-day activities relating to the customer projects as required, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and execution of customer project requirements. Completing projects on time, on budget, and with exceptional customer satisfaction will be the Project Manager’s charter. Additionally, the Project Manager will interface and manage the customer stakeholder team on all assigned projects and maintain a team schedule. This individual will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Transitions.
Primary Position Tasks:
- Assist with project structuring and planning during pre-award and throughout full project execution
- Identify and mitigate project risks
- Manage non-technical aspects of project delivery, including cost, performance, schedule, and quality
- Lead project meetings and ensure cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and the Service Desk, understand their responsibilities and overall project objectives
- Perform other business duties as assigned
- Develop detailed project plans
- Manage project change control processes
- Prepare project deliverables and write clear, customer-facing documentation
- Provide cross-functional leadership across project teams
- Own all aspects of project success
Qualifications and Skills:
- Exceptional verbal, written, and active-listening skills. The ability to convey expectations, risks, and project priorities clearly and concisely
- Proven ability to build relationships, negotiate timelines, and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple client-facing projects in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
- Knowledge of life cycle and project management methodologies
- Ability to track costs, schedule, and performance progress
- Ability to identify and develop risk response strategies
- CAPM or PMP certification
Preferred Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
- Experience with HW/SW professional services projects
- Experience with both federal and commercial customers
- ITIL Certification
Essential Elements (Mental; Physical; Equipment used):
- This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
Special Requirements:
- A minimum of 25% travel is required, subject to change as business permits
