As a Contracting Project Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of civil projects – from planning and programming to health, safety and environmental compliance, quality assurance, and financial management. You’ll coordinate resources, drive best practice, and manage subcontractors, taking full ownership of project outcomes.
Ngā kawenga tūranga | Key responsibilities:
Lead project teams and subcontractors to deliver construction projects safely, on time, and to specification
Plan and coordinate people, plant, materials, and subcontractors to keep work moving and minimise downtime
Manage contract administration, budgets, and commercial risks while identifying opportunities to add value
Champion health, safety, quality, and environmental standards on site, including pre‑starts and incident reporting
Set and monitor performance expectations for supervisors and crews, addressing issues early and constructively
Actively pursuing work with both internal and external clients, including pricing, tendering and negotiating works
In addition to the above you will:
Represent Fulton Hogan at client and stakeholder meetings, building trusted relationships and clearly communicating progress and results
Lead and support a positive, collaborative team culture, driving consistent project success
Communicate effectively and form strong relationships with clients, co-workers, and other stakeholders

Demonstrated leadership in Construction, 3 Waters, or major Civil works
Absolute commitment to health and safety as your top priority
At least 5 years’ construction experience as a Project Manager
Civil Engineering diploma/degree
Strong end‑to‑end project management capability, including planning, coordination, and commercial oversight
Strong communication – confident presenting, reporting, and negotiating
Financial know-how and attention to detail
A working knowledge of CCS Candy software will be an advantage
