Project Operations Manager__
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute large and medium-sized projects. Each day, you will ensure that all related activities are carried out in accordance with procedures, regulations, standards, specifications, and targets. You will also demonstrate leadership by guiding project team members to fulfill project requirements, deliver contracted deliverables, and accomplish the defined project results.
Work Model: #LI-Hybrid
This role contributes to the Electrification Distribution Solutions (ELDS) in Malaysia. The main stakeholders are ABB’s valued customers and partners.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Leading the project team, establishing the project execution approach, and overseeing planning, monitoring, and control activities to accomplish all project goals.
- Managing project progress, efficient resource utilization, and project financials.
- Identifying, qualifying, quantifying, and managing project risks, while ensuring all opportunities are identified and pursued.
- Collaborating with Supply Chain Management to efficiently procure required services, materials, and equipment for the projects.
- Acting as the key contact for customer escalations on project issues, building and maintaining solid relationships, and ensuring effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensuring the project execution plan complies with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Managing the formal acceptance of the project, final documentation, contract close-out, and acknowledgment by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.
Qualifications for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- More than 8 years of Project Management experience in Electrical Distribution and Medium Voltage.
- Experience in MV Switchgears and Compact Substations for Data Centers or Oil & Gas industries.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project; familiar with SAP, BGs, LCs, FX hedging, and Incoterms.
- Resourceful, self-organized, collaborative, methodological, solutions-driven, and growth-oriented mindset.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in the local language (written and spoken).
