As Project Manager in our Development -team, you’ll be at the heart of digital innovation, leading complex development projects that enhance both our processes and customer experience.
About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will lead development projects and programs from initiation to completion, ensuring they align with organizational targets and standards. You will plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional initiatives, managing risks and fostering collaboration across teams. Your role involves ensuring that project goals are achieved on time, within scope and budget, while maintaining high standards in claims practices, quality, and compliance. You will drive improvements in cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and customer experience, while coordinating process owners to support the structured and consistent development of customer journeys and processes.
A key part of your responsibility is to foster collaboration and ownership, coaching and developing team members in process leadership and customer-centric development. You will analyze complex problems, implement effective solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Operating with autonomy and accountability, you will be responsible for the overall performance and outcomes of assigned projects. Collaboration will be central to your work, as you engage closely with Claims Finland, Claims Digital Development, colleagues in Personal Claims Nordic organizations, business analysts, product units, and business development teams. You will also apply operational excellence methods such as Lean, Agile, and Service Design to ensure impactful and sustainable results.

About the Team
The team plays a central role in transforming the digital services of If’s personal claims operations. We ensure the reliability of personal claims systems and continuously develop new digital solutions—especially those that enhance the customer interface. Our team works in close collaboration with internal stakeholders across various claims areas and with our Agile development organization. We act as a bridge between technology and business, delivering better services for both internal users and customers—efficiently, flexibly, and with a customer-centric mindset.
Who Are You?
You have at least five years of experience in project management, preferably within the finance or insurance industry, and a proven track record of leading PMOs, project portfolios, or large-scale project entities. Your strong background in process and customer journey development is complemented by solid data management and analytical skills.
You are a self-motivated person with a proactive attitude and an outside-in perspective, always seeking ways to improve and innovate. You excel in presenting ideas, influencing stakeholders, and managing relationships across diverse teams. With a structured and result-oriented approach, you combine a business mindset with a strong focus on solutions and continuous improvement. You thrive in multicultural environments, embrace change, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively—even under pressure and across time zones.
You will also have
- A university degree (MSc, MBA, BSc or equivalent).
- Fluency in Finnish and English.
- Experience with Agile way of working
- Experience in leadership or change management is considered an advantage.
