Capex Technical Manager (Technical Project Management) – Maturation & CamLe

Location: Flexible in the central belt of Scotland, with travel to sites required
Contract Type: Permanent
Application Closing Date: 27th October 2025

About the Role

We are looking for a versatile and expert Technical Manager to join our Global Engineering team, leading Capital Project Management (Capex) initiatives across Diageo's production sites for Scotch Maturation, CamLe (Cameronbridge and Leven), and Abercrombie. This role is essential to delivering our Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for asset investments, overseeing multi-year, multi-million-pound projects across 12 sites.

As Technical Manager, you’ll lead a diverse, multi-functional team, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. You’ll use your engineering expertise to run efficient project spend and ensure seamless coordination between internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of Capex projects with a portfolio value of up to $300M, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to expected quality standards while handling risks and resolving issues.

  • Technical Expertise: Utilise specialist engineering knowledge to define technical specifications, provide cost estimates, and guide project teams in delivering the best solutions.

  • Supplier and Contractor Management: Oversee contracts with OEMs and contractors to ensure all project deliverables meet required standards and timelines.

  • Leadership and Collaborator Engagement: Line-manage and inspire a multidisciplinary engineering team, including three lead engineers and a wider project team of 26 members.

  • Compliance: Ensure alignment to health, safety, and environmental standards, Diageo’s Code of Conduct, and all legal and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Strong Health & Safety background with relevant qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH).

  • An engineering degree or equivalent qualification, with significant experience in engineering and project management, ideally within a manufacturing environment.

  • Professional Project Management qualifications (e.g., APM) are required or should be obtained within a reasonable timeframe.

  • Confirmed leadership experience, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to creating a positive, inclusive working environment.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to lead high-impact projects for one of the world’s leading beverage companies.

  • A dynamic environment with hybrid working options.

  • Career development opportunities within a global organisation committed to innovation, sustainability, and growth.
