Description:

Position Summary:

Provides professional project management expertise and coordination for a variety of complex, high-profile projects, programs and initiatives. Coordinates and leads project teams through all project phases, including planning, sourcing, execution, implementation and assessment. Troubleshoot problems and ensures completion of project deliverables, adhering to established standards, budgets 
and schedules. Provides project status updates to stakeholders, management and leadership. Develops and executes communication plans

What the Project Manager will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. 
  • Three years of project management experience. One year of experience with change management, process redesign and systems implementations initiatives.
  • Preferred: Experience interacting with executive leadership. Experience in a large, complex healthcare organization. 
  • Clinical or management experience in healthcare organization/operations. 
  • Minimum Strong knowledge of project management, change management, process improvement principles and methods. Strong project leadership skills. Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize and follow through on tasks with frequent interruptions, changing requirements and work priorities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive working partnerships. Ability to engage cross-functional work teams and influence outcomes. Ability to enlist support from stakeholders and tactfully navigate complex relationships. Ability to read subtle nuances of situations, identify risks and potential conflicts and act accordingly. Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of virtual project teams.

What the Project Manager will do:

  • Provides professional project management, leadership and coordination for assigned projects, programs and initiatives. 
  • Coordinates, leads and oversees the work of project teams through all project life-cycle phases – i.e., vendor RFI and RFP, initial planning and development, process design, business requirements definition, testing, execution, implementation, training, communication and completion.
  • Develops and implements project work plans, identifies resources, develops budget, and defines task requirements and project milestones and deliverables. Uses established project management tools to facilitate project planning, scheduling, management and reporting.
  • Identifies and engages key stakeholders to participate on work teams and support strategic projects, programs and initiatives. 
  • Leads project work teams and subject matter experts to define project scope.
  • Facilitates project team sessions.
  • Oversees and coordinates project resources to ensure completion of defined objectives within established project scope, budget and schedule.
  • Compiles and analyzes project data; prepares summaries and presentations of project scope, timetable and deliverables. 
  • Provides project status updates to key stakeholders, management and leadership.
