Project Manager
Huntsman is seeking a Project Manager supporting the Performance Products Division located in Conroe, Texas. This position will report to the Team Lead, Capital Projects.
Job Scope
This position is responsible managing the execution of assigned capital and expense projects supporting Conroe site’s capital budget and plant improvement projects.
In summary, as the Project Manager, you will:
- Actively manage the execution of assigned capital and expense projects through the Site project execution process. Ensures engineering and construction resources coincide adequately within projects' capital and schedule parameters.
- Provides scheduling and budget oversight and oversees development of new projects ideas congruent to the needs of the Site project execution process (Front End Engineering Development)
- Participates in and conducts scope and project reviews as they relate to assigned projects. Reviews and develops project justifications. Develops project overview presentations for plant and senior management.
- Provides technical solutions to plant problems within the framework of their technical background.
Other general responsibilities:
- Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Assists other employees in accomplishment of Huntsman company goals.
- Participates in and completes company-required training programs.
- Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering preferred. with 10+ years of related work experience.
- Other engineering disciples with Project Management Experience will be reviewed.
Specific Skills and Knowledge
- Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
- A level of proficiency with Microsoft Projects, Primaver or other scheduling software is desired.
- Position will generally have indirect reports of various level of engineering experience. Project Manager must have sufficient engineering experience and knowledge to command the respect of group members and plant management.
- Prior experience in front end design and detail design project functions would be a plus.
- Training in a staged gate process is desired.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or MBA is a plus.

- Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
