Summary
National Power, LLC is seeking a Project Manager, Under the general direction of and reporting to Vice President, Power Systems, the Project Manager is primarily responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities of designated standby generator projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished on schedule and within budget.
In addition, they serve as the primary support resource for a designated outside sales rep and our customers during the sales process. They are responsible for the preparation of accurate quotes and providing administrative support as defined below.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead technical design reviews and equipment selections for power generation systems ranging from 25kW to 2.5MW
- Develop detailed project specifications for generator installations, including fuel systems, switchgear, and controls integration
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation for power system installations
- Prepare submittals for customer approval
- Work with finance, legal and sales personnel on payment terms, contracts and project requirements
- Direct and coordinate all project activities to ensure that project progresses on schedule and within budget
- Prepare project reports for customers, management and others and modifies schedules and plans as needed
- Communicates with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and sales personnel regarding deliverable expectations and technical considerations.
- Proactively resolves problems with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Coordinates project activities with the activities of government agencies.
- Attends meetings at job sites and design offices as required.
- Reviews subcontractor and vendor proposals and awards contracts with the help of sales and management.
- Field incoming calls for assigned sales reps
- Track all open items and quotes for sales team and prepare weekly/monthly reports per management request
- Support the sales team through daily direct customer interactions, e.g. responding timely to customer inquiries, and answering product and applications questions from existing and prospective customers
- Develop “out of the box” sales strategies with salespersons
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in engineering, construction management or other technical subject; or four of more years related experience and/or training in project management or technical customer service in the electrical equipment industry
- 2+ years project management and sales support experience specifically in power generation, standby power systems, or critical power infrastructure
- Demonstrated knowledge of generator sets, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, and associated controls
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Requires advanced knowledge of the English language and good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, and SharePoint

Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Remote position
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
- Must be willing to occasionally drive long distances
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee’s productivity and overall performance.
