Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and proactive management of assigned projects. The Project Manager interfaces directly with the R&D, Operations, Quality, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing Teams to identify all tasks and resources required to implement small to medium-sized cross-functional projects. The duties of the Project Manager include requesting information from project participants, schedule development, estimating durations and dependencies, what-if analysis, updating schedules and status reporting. The Project Manager will work independently on assigned projects. The position reports to the General Manager in a flexible, result-focused organization committed to exceeding customer expectations while meeting all regulatory requirements.

  • Provide project oversight of creation, implementation, and execution of project plans/schedules to achieve business goals of assigned projects.
  • Identify task and project interdependencies, critical path items, and look for strategic ways to improve efficiency and/or successfully remove roadblocks.
  • Schedule and chair project meetings.
  • Create and maintain thorough, accurate and high-quality project records.
  • Maintain project documentation according to Empire Genomics Product Development Life Cycle procedure.
  • Lead operations projects required to implement process changes, meet new quality and regulatory requirements and documentation (such as CAPA, Deviation, CCF, BOM, SP, etc.) and address other special needs such as implementing temporary mitigations and leading root-
  • cause analysis investigations.   
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and external partners to ensure timely decision-making and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures, adjusting plans as needed to stay within budget.
  • Identify potential risks and roadblocks to project success and develop strategies to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Competencies

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred. PMP certification is a plus. 
  • Five plus (5+) years of industry experience, project management experience preferred. 
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with an ability to clearly identify and communicate team needs.    
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks.    
  • Must thrive in an environment of strong collaboration and team spirit and willingness to lead by example.    
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a cross-functional environment and use influence and persuasion to accomplish project goals.    
  • Must be self-motivated with the proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment to achieve results.    
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, and Project).    
  • Able to do required travel (primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Less than 5% travel is required.) 

Compensation Range

  • $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Expected Location & Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time on-site position.
  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. This position may require working extended weekday or weekend hours depending on business needs.
