The Role

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Project Manager to lead and oversee data center projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data center operations, technical engineering, and construction project management. While experience in these areas is essential, they will not be part of your day-to-day duties. Instead, your focus will be on project management, coordination, and ensuring successful project execution. 

*Candidates should be located near Ashburn, VA, with the flexibility to work remotely.

Salary: $65,000 annually

Hours: Monday through Friday 8am-4pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Project Management:
    • Lead and manage data center projects from initiation to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders, including data center technicians, engineers, construction teams, and clients, to ensure project objectives are met.
    • Conduct regular project meetings, provide updates, and manage risks and issues as they arise.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Prepare and present project status reports, documentation, and deliverables to stakeholders and clients.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and projects are delivered within financial constraints.
    • Allocate resources effectively, ensuring the right teams and individuals are engaged at the right time.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations across all project phases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on data centers, engineering, and construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center systems, including electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure, though these will not be part of day-to-day duties.
  • Proven experience in managing complex data center projects, including infrastructure upgrades, new builds, and system integrations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and other relevant tools.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

  • Ability to work remotely but with proximity to Ashburn, VA, for occasional site visits.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to managing challenges.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with large-scale data center builds and expansions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and ASHRAE.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in data center and construction environments.
  • Experience in managing remote teams and coordinating across multiple locations.
