Department OverviewProject Manager for SI Motorola, will be responsible for Managing the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services.
Job Description

 Responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

  • Manages the development and/or implementation of Motorola Solutions products or services. 

  • Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgraded existing products or services 

  • Resolves issues between internal and external groups.

  • Responsible for the profit level for all projects under his/her control.

  • Establishing and maintaining a project budget and schedule

  • Establishing and maintaining a communication plan with project teams and customers

  • Establishing and executing a risk assessment and mitigation plans

  • Establishing and maintaining a quality plan

  • Negotiating and writing subcontracts for internal and external subcontractors

  • Preparing project documentation

  • Providing key guidance and support for proposal efforts

  • Providing system integration quotations and statements of work

  • Manages projects from inception to completion (or transition), including tracking and evaluation of project performance. 

  • Ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and within accepted quality metrics.

  • Utilizes six sigma and project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness. 

  • Responsible for Project Cost Control and Revenue.

  • Motivates the project team to ensure optimal performance. 

  • May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

  • Responsible for managing both internal stakeholders and external.

  • Works with the Project Management Office to identify and implement process improvement and best practices across the Project Management discipline.

  • Participate in pre-contract evaluation of contract terms and scope in order to evaluate and mitigate potential risks/gaps.

  • Participation in pre-contract Oral presentations and customer negotiations

This position works onsite and requires 40%-60% of travel


Basic Requirements

  • B.S. degree required. (B.S. in Electronic/Telecommunication/Computer Engineering)

  • 4+ years of project management experience managing complex deployments and/or software application deployments preferably for State and Local public safety government agencies in public safety.

  •  Experience in the implementation of complex systems, including integration with 3rd party products and services. 

  • Experience with project risk assessment and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Experienced in running projects with the following elements: Public Safety communications systems, Cellular infrastructure, Military communications, Civil construction and IT Networks.

  • Highly developed consultation, communication and project management skills

  • Experience contributing to full lifecycle project execution (design, development, delivery and implementation)

  • Highly advanced ability to investigate, analyze and solve complex problems/issues

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in teams required.

  • Must be assertive in representing Motorola's needs when meeting with customers.

  • Must be available to travel to customer locations and must be able to work occasionally in harsh outdoor environments.

  • Demonstrable experience working with government contractor jobs

  • PMP certification is desirable, ITIL, AGILE or SCRUM Certifications is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint & Project).

  • Master Degree or equivalent is a Plus.

  • Bilingual English Proficiency is a must.
