Overview & Responsibilities
Effective management of all commercial issues relative to apparatus orders and internal order execution. Including but not limited to: purchase order validation, order record changes, pricing, costing, Technical documents, Terms of payment, and claims for damages or missing items at the job site.
Interface between Project Engineering, Drafting, Purchasing, Production, Finance, Shipping, Jeannette IP operations and our customers in order to execute orders to our customer's satisfaction while achieving financial and timeliness requirements.
Act as customer agent and point of contact on commercial issues.
To assure compliance with commercial contract requirements and achievement or budgeted profit levels relative to contract changes initiated by the customer. Maintain effective working relations with all customer, Elliott, and sub vendor personnel throughout the contract life.
Educational background - B.E/ B.Tech. in Business Administration, Engineering.
A minimum of six years of varied experience in an Engineered Product manufacturer and proven understanding of the entire order execution process.
Experience in negotiations, customer contact or organization dynamics.
Basic knowledge of Elliott products and demonstrated knowledge of Elliott processes, procedures and personnel.
Knowledge of financial parameters and accounting practices governing Elliott goals.
Proven logistic, analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including conflict resolution.
A Certified Project Manager certificate is considered an important advanced qualification.
An adequate knowledge of the commercial aspects relative to the turbo machinery industry.
Awareness of the cultural diversity required by globally based customers.
Directing customer communication relevant to Technical and Commercial portions of the contract.
Directing commercial aspects of the contract to the timely execution of orders to our customer’s satisfaction while increasing Elliott cash flow.
Managing the customer interface in a manner which enhances the customer’s perception of Elliott Company.
Controlling of priorities, schedules and related resource issues.
Developing accurate cost information as required for pricing purposes.
In most cases, activities are governed by general procedures, although numerous unique situations are encountered due to the combination of various customer requirements.
Developing and integrating process improvements into daily activities.
Acts on behalf of Elliott Company in communications between the customer and Elliott personnel while maintaining customer "goodwill".

Intra-department personnel - all levels of management in the following areas: Application Engineering, Project Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Assembly & Test, Production Control, Purchasing, Product Engineering, Quality, Packaging Division and Logistics.
Inter-departmental personnel - all levels of management in the following areas: Marketing, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply chain management, Aftermarket Service, Service Engineering and Finance/Accounting.
Any assigned cross functional committees.
External Contacts:
Customer (Purchasing and Engineering representatives) resolution of commercial requirements.
ISO 9000 audit personnel relative to compliance.
Suppliers - Purchasing commercial issues.
Third party inspection agents.
Field sales personnel and Elliott agents.
The position is working supervisory in nature and functionally will direct Project Engineering and Drafting personnel relative to scheduling of customer deliverables and achievement of the respective schedules.
Review Customer orders and validate required order entry information on new apparatus orders.
Coordinate order incorporation into the master demand schedule.
Generate Project plan and Schedule project engineering task specific to each other.
Complete preliminary monthly revenue forecast for approval.
Develop Technical drawings, D-specs, BOM, P-sheets etc and release them to all stake holders.
Co-ordinate with Application Engineering and Quality for developing and getting customer’s approvals for ITP’s.
Issue of Purchase requisitions and review and approvals of Technical proposals of suppliers.
Co-ordinate with Manufacturing and Supply chain for Technical support during execution of projects.
Monitor the overall project engineering schedule to coordinate appropriate corrective action to avoid lateness.
Co-ordinate with customers for providing Manufacturing clearance, Code1/2 approvals, etc to SCM
Co-ordinate with Planning and Quality for sign off of required forms for clearance to dispatch.
Co-ordinate with Finance for payment terms (Advance, LD, LC, BG etc)
Direct the execution of invoicing on progress payment orders by monitoring order progress against contractual milestones.
Develop cost information as required for pricing purposes and related analysis.
Coordinate, manage or interface all project engineering, drafting, purchasing, production control, manufacturing activities and quality, to ensure completion of all contract requirements to the customer's satisfaction.
Operate as an agent of change by identifying process enhancements.
Support the customer witness interface on testing requirements.
Development and coordination of delivery lead-time parameters with customers, marketing and field sales.
Act as customer agent and point of contact on problem orders.
Support the economical procurement and utilization of essential materials, goods and services required to support operations.
Coordinate the maintenance of departmental records to establish historical source information base.
Perform special projects as directed by superiors.
Approval of the commercial aspects of all contract changes relative to cost, margin and lead-time.
Based on schedule performance, evaluate and request priority handling as appropriate.
Perform advance planning to avoid delays and reduce profits. Define problems expeditiously and make critical decisions, involving upper management, as necessary.
Monitor customer and internal changes or delays affecting schedules and/or profit levels and approve or take corrective actions to improve situation as needed.
