Job Description:

As the Project Manager for our BWIS group, you will oversee customer orders, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of project deliverables. This role is pivotal in achieving profit, time, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives. As the first point of contact for assigned customer orders, you will manage all aspects of a project from order acceptance through installation. You will also engage in company events, training, education, and Lean Manufacturing practices.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review new orders with the engineering team to ensure specifications are complete, achievable, minimize warranty exposure, and meet customer expectations.
  • Review sample product specifications to verify order and machine function consistency.
  • Compile customer change requests and collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate accurate machine change order proposals with pricing and options meeting specifications.
  • Document and effectively communicate the implications of changes on cost, time, and delivery dates.
  • Efficiently plan, lead, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including warranty support.
  • Plan, monitor, and control projects to ensure team accountability for meeting time, scope, and budget targets.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal and external communications and meetings for each project, including kick-offs, weekly updates, design reviews, and post-project lessons learned.
  • Lead Operations MCR meetings.
  • Lead internal and customer factory acceptance tests (iFATs and FATs).
  • Serve as the primary customer and sales point of contact for all projects.
  • Escalate critical issues as needed.
  • Provide timely feedback and process improvement initiatives.
  • Create and manage internal and customer action/punch lists, assign ownership, and ensure timely completion.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams (sales, accounting, field service, engineering, and other project managers) to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a Project Management Communication Plan for ongoing and timely stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct Risk Management Planning and lead Risk Burn Down events as required.
  • Ensure project documentation is accessible to teams when needed.
  • Monitor and report project performance.
  • Coordinate invoicing and payment schedules with Finance.
  • Maintain the assembly area build plan layout for upcoming projects.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of project management experience, or 5+ years of project management experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience in capital equipment, manufacturing, or a related industry is required.

  • Strong customer interaction and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with project management softwares.

  • Intermediate level Excel skills. (Proficiency in using formulas like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF, IF, nested functions, and other complex calculations. Creating and utilizing PivotTables and PivotCharts to summarize and analyze large datasets etc.)

  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams (sales, supply chain, assembly, engineering, operations).

  • Ability to manage multiple (20-30+) projects in various stages simultaneously.

 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Experience managing capital equipment projects is ideal

  • Certification in Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) or Lean methodologies. Experience leading process improvement initiatives
