Manage and coordinate R&D projects at the division or cross-division level, working under the direction of the Program Manager. Your goal is to deliver projects on time, within scope and within budget, despite limited resources and changing priorities.
You will lead cross-functional teams of business analysts, developers and validation analysts using Agile or hybrid delivery practices, and keep sponsors and executives informed with clear status, risk and budget reporting.
Responsibilities
- Define the project. Work with business and R&D management to agree on goals, scope and deliverables.
- Plan the work. Build and execute project work plans, schedules and resource plans, and secure the resources needed.
- Lead the team. Guide cross-functional, cross-divisional teams using Agile or hybrid practices, assigning tasks based on each member's strengths.
- Track budget and performance. Measure progress against the original plan and budget, and report spend versus plan and forecast.
- Manage risks and change. Log and manage risks, issues, dependencies and scope changes, then align with the Program Manager, management and sponsor on resolution. Escalate to the Program Manager when needed.
- Keep stakeholders informed. Provide timely, accurate status reports and decision-support information to the team, division, cross-division and executive management.
- Support portfolio planning. Give the Program Manager status, capacity and dependency information to help prioritize projects and allocate resources.
- Ensure quality. Make sure project documentation and deliverables meet quality and validation requirements.
- Work with partners. Coordinate with external vendors and partners where applicable.
- Close out. Capture lessons learned and obtain final approval from the sponsor and stakeholders.
- Stay compliant. Follow applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
