Cuningham is seeking a Project Manager to join our Phoenix office. Project types may vary, but healthcare experience is preferred. We're looking for someone with a diverse project background, strong client relationship skills, and a proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is responsive, organized, and committed to delivering exceptional project outcomes while contributing to Cuningham's collaborative culture.

At Cuningham, everything comes back to one idea: design a better world with deep respect for the real one people live in. As our next Project Manager, you're the one who turns that into reality on the ground, keeping the people, the details, and the budget all moving in the same direction.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading small and mid-size project teams, and keeping everyone focused on what success actually looks like for each project.
  • Helping build strong teams alongside your Project Executive and other project leaders, matching people to the right work and helping them grow.
  • Shaping scope, deliverables, schedules, and fees into solid proposals, working closely with your Project Executive and project leaders.
  • Supporting your design and technical leads as they pull together coordinated packages across multi-discipline, multi-phase projects.
  • Keeping work plans, labor plans, and schedules current, and keeping the team motivated, communicating openly, and flagging issues to your Project Executive before they turn into bigger problems.
  • Owning the project budget and financial performance (tracked in Vantagepoint and other tools), and spotting opportunities for additional services before costs are incurred.
  • Planning and running (or delegating) internal and external meetings and communications.
  • Watching for risk throughout the project and looping in your Project Executive early.
  • Handling day-to-day client relationships, including conversations on budget, schedule, and scope, and supporting project leadership as needed.
  • Administering Owner and Consultant contracts, and keeping responsible oversight of any technical submissions that need your signature and seal.
  • Supporting Sector Leaders with staffing decisions and revenue projections.
  • Jumping into project pursuits, helping prepare and review proposal and interview content.
  • Using tools like MS Office, Bluebeam, AIA Contracts, MS Project (or similar), and Deltek Vantagepoint day to day, and staying comfortable with Revit/BIM 360, Miro, and Microsoft Teams.

What We Look For:

  • 8+ years of project management experience in architecture, engineering, or construction, managing projects from proposal through delivery.
  • Healthcare project experience preferred; open to strong backgrounds in other markets such as hospitality and gaming, themed entertainment, or general architecture and interior design.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Professional licensure (architect or PE) or NCARB registration is required; PMP certification also welcome but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, scope, and contracts across multi-discipline teams.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and comfort leading conversations on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, AIA Contracts, and MS Project (or similar); working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Familiarity with Revit/BIM 360 and digital collaboration tools such as Miro and Microsoft Teams.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset and genuine curiosity about doing good work.
