Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and lead the execution of medium to large industrial projects within ABB’s Motion High Power business, mainly related to integrated electrical solutions for mining and heavy industries. You will be part of the MOHP Team Chile, which supports business and project execution across Chile and LATAM and is also connected to the Americas Hub, enabling collaboration with ABB teams in Canada and the United States.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Leading and coordinating project execution from handover to close-out, ensuring alignment with contractual scope, schedule, cost, quality, HSE, cybersecurity and customer requirements.
Coordinating projects involving medium-voltage drives, medium-voltage motors, electrical rooms, switchgear, CMM, transformers and auxiliary electrical equipment.
Monitoring project progress, resource utilization, financial performance, invoicing status, costs, expenses, cash flow, risks and opportunities.
Managing internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, factories, engineering teams, supply chain, procurement, logistics, HSE, finance and commissioning teams.
Supporting contract, claims, change management, procurement and logistics activities in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements.
Driving project documentation, customer acceptance, contract close-out, lessons learned and continuous improvement in project execution practices.
Qualifications for the role
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, project coordination or project execution in mining, heavy industry, pulp & paper, marine or similar industrial environments.
Experience or knowledge in electrical equipment, automation, power systems, variable frequency drives, motors, electrical rooms, switchgear, control systems or auxiliary industrial equipment.
Strong skills in project planning, stakeholder coordination, risk management, document control, cost control, reporting and follow-up of project activities.
Degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, civil, automation engineering or a related technical field.
English communication skills are required. Intermediate English is the minimum acceptable level, while advanced English is highly desirable due to interaction with global factories, LATAM stakeholders and Americas Hub teams.
PMI, CAPM, PMP or equivalent project management certification is desirable, as well as experience with MS Project, SAP, Excel, Power BI or other project control tools.
