THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Sprinkler Project Manager to join our team full-time! You will manage sprinkler installation projects in  Vancouver, BC and surrounding areas, working directly with major general contractors, end users, and construction management firms on both new building and existing building renovation sprinkler projects.

· Understand current and previous building code requirements, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and knowledge of all aspects of permitting and local AHJ requirements

· Directly involved in all sprinkler system / fire alarm sales, quotations, service work needs, as well as deficiencies and spin-offs from inspection accounts

· Proactively manage project risks, issues, and develop mitigation plans to address potential problems

· Responsible for managing the execution of all project milestones/deliverables/releases.

· Develop and communicate project deliverables, detailed project schedules, incorporating critical timelines from construction requirements to achieve defined milestones

· Responsible for all technical communication regarding project status with both the customer as well as the Project Coordinator

· Create Schedule of Values based on the Project costs to be used for Monthly draw billings

· Provides status reports to the project leadership on a regular basis

· Communicate all aspects of the change order process with the Project Coordinator to ensure all costs are captured and documented when necessary to work performed beyond the original scope

· Work closely with the Project Coordinator and field team to ensure all required information is available and that required documents including invoicing and inventory transactions are completed efficiently and accurately.

· Ensure field staff are adhering to company policies and procedures.

· Other supervisory duties as required.

The ideal candidate would have the following strengths and experience:

· High School Diploma, Red Seal, GSC or PMP.

· Three plus years of experience as a project manager in the Industrial, Construction, Plumbing or Mechanic industry would be an asset.

· Three plus years of experience as a project manager in the Fire Protection industry

PLEASE NOTE: Candidate(s) selected to fill this position will need to supply a Drivers Abstract and a Criminal Background Check and other security clearance as may be required. This posting is open to both internal and external candidates. Local candidates only.

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Red Seal, GSC, or PMP certification
  • Three or more years of project management experience in the fire protection industry
  • Three or more years of project management experience in industrial, construction, plumbing, or mechanical industries
  • Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, permitting, and local authority requirements
