Job DescriptionJob Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract to lead the successful delivery of complex engineering and technology projects within a dynamic, customer-focused environment. This is a hands-on role responsible for driving execution, ensuring strong governance, managing stakeholder expectations, and delivering projects on time and within budget. You will play a key role in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project risks, and ensuring projects are delivered in line with business, customer, and contractual requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end project delivery across planning, execution, monitoring, governance, and close-out activities.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and change control to ensure successful outcomes.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Commercial, Manufacturing, Service, and Delivery functions.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, WBS, RACI matrices, risk registers, and project reporting packs.
- Track project performance against approved baselines, perform variance analysis, and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure compliance with Product Lifecycle Process (PLP), project governance requirements, and stage-gate reviews.
- Act as the primary interface for customers and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and expectation management.
- Support bid and tender activities through project planning, risk assessment, compliance reviews, and commercial input.
- Manage external stakeholders and contractual commitments to ensure successful project execution.
- Lead project handovers to operations, manufacturing, service, or support teams to achieve smooth transition and business readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement, governance excellence, and disciplined project delivery practices.
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager within engineering, technology, manufacturing, defence, infrastructure, or complex technical environments.
- Strong expertise in project controls including planning, scheduling, forecasting, cost management, risk management, and change control.
- Experience working within cross-functional and matrix organisations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across multiple teams.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, SAP, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, organisation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Experience delivering customer-facing projects and managing contractual obligations.
- Experience supporting bids, tenders, and commercial project reviews.
- Exposure to product development, engineering delivery, manufacturing, or operational project environments.
- Experience operating within global organisations and governance-driven project frameworks.
