Position Summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Project Manager for our Technical Operations team at our manufacturing site in Warrington, UK. You'll collaborate with Program and Product Management leadership, and also with local QA, Purchasing, Engineering and Ops teams. The Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. They will handle the introduction of new products, site-to-site transfers, and sustaining engineering projects across our genetic science product portfolio. They will also embrace continuous improvement to drive efficiency gains at the site.

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, you will:

  • Coordinate the smooth technical transfer in connection with bringing new products to the manufacturing site.
  • Coordinate professional teams of operational staff and scientists through design transfer and product lifecycle management.
  • Serve as a knowledge leader supporting the Warrington Technical Operations team.
  • Challenge the status quo, driving continuous improvement to optimise efficiency and align operations with evolving business needs.
  • Assess workloads and priorities, implementing them in alignment with business goals.
  • Resolve operational problems swiftly to minimise delays, advancing issues to relevant on-site and off-site partners when necessary.
  • Write and review new product documentation, incorporating QA and manufacturing input, such as SOPs, Risk Assessments, and spreadsheet validation.
  • Coordinate validation/verification processes, risk assessments, and other departmental change control activities.
  • Ensure that new products, site-to-site transfers, and sustaining projects adhere closely to site Quality Manual Systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and align with safety standards and the hazardous waste management program, including safe hazardous waste handling and maintaining good housekeeping.
Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Experience in project management and proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Outstanding leadership abilities, with the capacity to coordinate, encourage and keep on track a team with varied strengths and functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with different cultures, and with the ability to produce high-quality documentation.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency or willingness to train in Oracle Cloud PLM
  • Experience working in life-science products or medical device products would be advantageous.
