The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, from order placement through installation and final project closeout. Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, subcontractors, sales, and engineering throughout the project
- Develop and maintain accurate project records, schedules, documentation, and status updates within project management systems
- Proactively identify project risks, issues, and potential impacts to cost or schedule, and drive timely resolution
- Provide clear and consistent project updates to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations and company standards
Qualifications & Experience
- 3-5 years’ experience as a Project Manager for a material handling system provider, conveyor integrator, controls contractor, or closely related field
- Experience managing conveyor installation projects, including coordination of mechanical installation, electrical installation, controls integration, and system start-up activities
- Prior hands-on experience personally programming, supporting, or troubleshooting conveyor controls is strongly preferred
- Experience leading or participating in conveyor commissioning efforts, including I/O checkout, device testing, PLC/HMI coordination, functional testing, and go-live support
- Experience working with or leading conveyor/controls electrical installation teams, including field wiring, panels, sensors, motor controls, VFDs, scanners, photo eyes, E-stops, and networked control devices
- Ability to understand conveyor layouts, controls drawings, electrical schematics, installation plans, and customer specifications
Up to 75% of travel is required for this role.
Skills Required
- 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager for a material handling system provider or closely related field
- Proficiency with project management software
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Project Online, and Synergis Adept
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to earn client trust
- Ability to present information to customers, top management, and peers
- Willingness to travel nationwide, possibly internationally, up to 75%
- Ability to drive and travel using public transportation, including airlines
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
