Roles and Responsibilities
Customer Relations: Prepare and submit advance program schedule as required. Monthly progress meetings with customer, if relevant. Organize meetings with customer to discuss and resolve issues if necessary. Maintain good working relationship with customers, managers and engineers. Provide customer care and ensure permanent customer satisfaction.
Process implementation: Responsible for the implementation of all required processes (including financial, operational, quality, safety) and reporting of activities and all required indicators.
Project Planning/Organization: General planning, scheduling and workload forecasting to optimize allocation of resources. Interface with concerned internal organization for delivery of material/equipment as per schedule. Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders to ensure on time deliveries.
Implementation: Manage and monitor all site activities. Support site team members in investigating and resolving field problems in coordination with customers, subcontractors, consortium partners. Anticipate and analyze delays and propose corrective action plans. Implement local actions required for resolution of major non-quality issues. Provide feedback of products defects and non-quality issues for future corrections and procurements. Find and propose local solutions to problems. Ensure project adheres to quality and process requirements.
Information & Reporting: Ensure concise and systematic reporting as required to management. General monthly activity progress reports addressing all project/issues. Conduct (ROE) Return of Experience with teams to learn from past and improve. Lookout for opportunities and inform sales team.
Project Financials: Optimize and monitor project budgets. Control and monitor costs. Monitor project progress for milestone for progress invoices and sales. Follow-up on the cash collections. Identify potential financial risks and propose corrective plans/actions
Statcom/HVDC Coordination: Coordination with PDG office for all costs/time/contractual/technical topics & Customer. Coordination of installation and testing commissioning activities with the PDG experts and ensure that the resource are mobilized on time at site for the project. Responsibility for the budget and delivery of the local activities. Driving generation and/or defending VO/Claims towards customer/contractors in close cooperation with Contract Management team.
Qualifications/Requirements
University degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
10 years minimum relevant experience in International Project activities for multi-disciplinary and working experience with the structural fabricator for projects with good knowledge of technical and contractual requirements of high voltage electrical Substation Projects.
Knowledge of Electrical networks and technology used in related T&D projects (involving AIS or GIS switchgear, transformers, related cable works etc.)
Ability to lead, manage and organize multiple teams and activities, as well as required staffing, development and training plan for the different teams.
Skills in planning, resource management, financial and legal/contractual aspects of project management.
Knowledge of project management tools, software and methodologies such as MS Project, Primavera etc.
An understanding and appreciation of International Standards (e.g. IEC) as well as local preferences / practices.
Knowledge of T&D products and systems, especially substations in transmission & distribution networks.
Good oral / written communication skills in English and Japanese.
Time and resource management skills.
