As part of the Parcel Services team, the Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing customer projects from order to completion. This role requires balancing technical delivery, financial performance, and stakeholder communication to ensure each project meets scope, schedule, and quality objectives. The Project Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, field service, and sales teams while maintaining a strong customer focus and proactive approach to risk and change management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all phases of assigned projects, from contract review through completion and handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Manage project scope, ensuring clear definition of deliverables and alignment with customer expectations.
- Monitor progress against plan, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely communication and issue resolution.
- Oversee financial performance, including forecasting, invoicing, and cost control to meet profitability targets.
- Facilitate coordination among engineering, procurement, and field service teams to ensure timely and quality execution.
- Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and contributing to process standardization within the Service organization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management (or equivalent technical field).
- 5+ years of experience in project management within automation, material handling, or related industrial field.
- Experience with completion of small-to-medium sized projects (up to $10M) in the Construction and/or Material Handling Industry.
- Working knowledge of project planning, risk assessment, and cross-functional coordination.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong subcontractor management experience.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% (Note: Most travel is done on weekdays).
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience managing projects involving conveyors, sortation systems, or control automation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other layout/design tools.
- Proficiency in Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively across multilingual teams and customer groups.
