Job Summary

The Project Manager oversees all aspects of operational projects from plant consolidations to equipment relocation, using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes. The Project Manager is responsible for coordination and completion of the projects and will perform a variety of tasks including leading project teams, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring and summarizing progress of the project. The Project Manager may be responsible for more than one project at a time.


Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing on to client.
  • Effectively executes project management methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Minimizes exposure and risk on projects.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Project Accounting
  • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Manages project budget.
  • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
  • Responsible for project cost.
  • Travel - 10%

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Preferred PMP credentials.
  • Must have experience in Greenfield (brand new factory) & Brownfield (existing factory expansion).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Access.
  • 5 – 10 years of Project Management experience within an engineering-based manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Technical Writing, Communication, and Verbal Skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understands the safety expectations and standards for the organization and holds team members and contractors to meeting or exceeding those expectations.
  • Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
  • Lead proposal efforts, effectively convey our message, and facilitate regular meetings.
  • Resolves and escalates issues in a timely manner.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and manage change effectively.
  • Reviews status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
  • Manage the work of electrical, mechanical, and construction contractors, keeping them on time and budget.
  • Effective communication with community, state, and regulatory agencies.
  • Motivates their project team to move with a sense of urgency.

Skills Required
