Project Manager Payments

Varrlyn is a consulting firm which was founded in 2010 and is based in The Netherlands. We help financial institutions with system implementations and provide some serious application support, concentrating on the way they process transactions and deploy reporting applications.

Varrlyn has a proven track record: we have worked for financial institutions in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Paris, New York, Frankfurt, and Sydney. We help improve cost efficiency, simplify application architecture, optimize time to market, enhance straight-through processing, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. In other words: You do the deal, we’ll do the project.

Do you understand asset management back office processes and are you familiar with payment setups, including SWIFT standards? Do you have experience in projects that require close co-creation between business and IT? Then we would like to speak with you!

Our client is upgrading to the latest SWIFT standards and streamlining the payment processes.

As a Project Manager Payments, you will take the lead across all project phases, with responsibilities shifting per stage. Your focus will be on analysis, in close cooperation with IT. You will also help design and define the solution, continuously assessing the added business value. You work in an agile way with colleagues and take on the role of Project Manager Payments.

You are motivated to implement business changes in a smart way and act as a sparring partner for the team, the Product Owner and other departments. You have strong problem-solving skills and are able to guide and coach junior business analysts.

You are an enthusiastic T-shaped team player who focuses on analysis and end-to-end design, applies a holistic approach and understands the underlying technology. You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-changing environment and are keen to contribute new ideas.

The Project Manager Payments we are looking for is solution-oriented and opportunity-driven. You naturally take ownership and responsibility and have a pragmatic mindset. You are result-focused, while maintaining a strong eye for quality.

• You hold a degree (preferably a master’s) in Finance or a related field;

• You have at least 5 years of relevant experience as an agile Business Analyst or Project Manager;

• You have solid knowledge of and experience with the investment chain and payment processes;

• You demonstrate a clear interest in financial markets;

• You have strong persuasive and communication skills.

You have highly developed communication skills and can easily communicate in English (verbal and in writing), Dutch is a pré.
