Purpose:

The Project Manager – New Markets Product will oversee key initiatives within the product organization, ensuring timely and successful execution of projects related to the launch of innovative and new products for New Markets including Defined Contribution, Stable Value, International Retirement, and Registered Investment Advisors. This role bridges technical teams and cross-functional business partners, including Finance, Operations, IT, Sales, and Risk, promoting efficiency, governance, and transparency across initiatives. The ability to coordinate with IT systems partners is critical.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end management of product and cross-departmental projects, from planning through execution and delivery.

  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, IT, Operations, Sales and Risk teams to align project objectives with strategic business goals.

  • Develop detailed project plans, manage timelines, and proactively identify and mitigate risks or dependencies.

  • Facilitate stakeholder communication, ensuring accurate progress reporting, documentation, and accountability.

  • Support implementation of new IT systems, process automation, and data management initiatives.

  • Facilitate and help create structure for New Markets Governance Committees to communicate progress and escalate issues to Athene leadership. 

  • Coordinate regulatory or audit-related deliverables and ensure compliance with internal governance standards.

  • Monitor resource allocation and project budgets in collaboration with department leads.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through process refinement and knowledge sharing.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business related field. 

  • Experience: 6+ years in project management, actuarial or financial roles—preferably within insurance or financial services.

  • Project Management: Proven track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects or managing multiple projects/workstreams simultaneously and delivering projects within scope, schedule and budget; PMP or similar certification is a plus.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, exceptional communication and organization skills, ability to translate technical details into actionable insights.

  • Team Leadership: Experience working cross-functionally with IT and business teams in fast-paced, evolving environments.
