Job Summary Iron Mountain is seeking a highly skilled and decisive Mechanical Project Manager to join our data center infrastructure team.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of critical mechanical and electrical projects within our data center facilities.
You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to analyze complex technical requirements and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do In this role, you will:
- Drive project execution: Plan, schedule, and oversee mechanical and electrical projects from initiation through completion, developing comprehensive scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors: Partner with internal teams, contractors, and external vendors to manage procurement, negotiate contracts, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless project execution while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Ensure compliance and quality assurance: Conduct rigorous technical reviews and regular site inspections to ensure all designs and executed work comply with data center operational standards, safety regulations, and environmental protocols.
What You’ll Bring The ideal candidate will have:
- 10 to 12 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years explicitly managing mechanical and/or electrical projects in a data center or similar infrastructure environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems—including Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), cooling, and power distribution—as well as Building Management Systems (BMS) and industry standards like American National Standards Institute / Telecommunications Industry Association (ANSI/TIA) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14644.
- Proven ability in complex problem-solving, stakeholder communication, budget management, and utilizing project management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6).
- A background in mechanical or electrical engineering, preferably complemented by Agile experience and certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP)
