Key responsibilities
At our Center of Competence for Auxiliary Power Systems, we play a leading role in the design and development of onboard power converters and related electronic components for locomotives, high-speed trains, trams, buses, and more.
To join our motivated team, we are looking for a Project Manager (m/f/d) with experience in power electronics and in railway applications. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects at ABB Traction.
You will act as the main point of contact for our customers and work closely with the Technical Project Manager (TPL) to ensure that all project requirements are met.
This role is contributing to the Motion business area in Berlin.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Serve as the main customer contact from project start, represent ABB’s interests, provide customer support, and manage project-relevant negotiations
- Create, coordinate, and update the integrated project schedule, ensure contractual requirements are met, align the project team, and manage project risks
- Coordinate and oversee all project activities, manage risks and change processes, and generate additional offers in case of deviations
- Monitor and control project costs and timelines; present project status updates to management
- Ensure contractual delivery completion, present the financial project closing, and document key takeaways in a “Lessons Learned.”
- Estimate project management efforts for bids, exchange experiences with the Bid Manager, and support customer negotiations

Qualifications for the role
- Completed degree in engineering or business administration from a university of applied sciences
- Professional experience in project management
- Experience in contract and claim management as well as in change and configuration management
- Certificated in PMP or equivalent project management certificate
- Technical proficiency and problem-solving capabilities
- Customer and market orientation as well as persuasive communication skills
- Highly developed German and English communication skills, both written and verbal
