Project Manager (Kinetix)

Wabtec is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager (Kinetix) to join our team in Astana, Kazakhstan. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multi-phase projects from pre-award through to completion, ensuring successful delivery of our turnkey solutions in the transportation sector.

• Collaborate closely with the Senior Project Manager to oversee the overall delivery of KTZ Projects in Kazakhstan
• Coordinate local activities between Wabtec US and Wabtec Kazakhstan, including customs, logistics, and planning
• Manage workgroups across multiple sites located in Kazakhstan
• Regularly attend KTZ offices in Astana to provide status updates, participate in workshops, and engage in technical discussions
• Conduct site visits to provide guidance and support to the TCRM, including site reviews and safety discussions
• Coordinate and manage sub-contractors effectively
• Review project schedules and priorities in conjunction with the Senior Project Manager
• Prepare and submit weekly reports to KTZ, translating as necessary
• Provide translation services for the Kinetix Team
• Generate project reports and daily progress updates for Wabtec management
• Escalate issues to Senior Project Management and Wabtec Engineering as needed
• Maintain daily reporting and checklists to ensure project transparency and accountability

• Bachelor degree in engineering 
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience, preferably in the transportation or railway industry
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent negotiation skills and a proven ability to build strong client and supplier relationships
• Team player with great interpersonal skills, demonstrating flexibility and proactivity in problem-solving
• Fluency in both English and Kazakh
• Experience working with international teams and managing cross-cultural communication
• Familiarity with international project management standards (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
