About Overwatch Mission Critical
Overwatch is a service-disabled Veteran-owned small business (SDVOB) certified through the national veterans business development council (NVBDC), offering construction professional services, talent acquisition, and general contractor for the mission-critical infrastructure industry. Our mission is the construction and management of state-of-the-art data centers with the precision and reliability this industry demands. From high-end engineers to seasoned professionals, we deploy the people you need to get your data center off the ground. At Overwatch, it's more than a job. It's purpose.

Overview
The Project Manager, Innovation & Sustainability, plans, manages, and drives the cross-functional projects that advance team's innovation agenda and sustainability programs. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution — taking the ideas, commitments, and initiatives the team is accountable for and making sure they actually get done.
The PM partners closely with the SVP of Innovation & Sustainability and coordinates across Design, Delivery, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Sales to keep programs on schedule, risks visible, and decisions documented. This is a driver role, not a support role. The person in this seat owns the plan, runs the meetings, and is accountable for outcomes.
This role is grounded in team culture: direct, humble, and focused on results over activity.

Main Responsibilities
Innovation Program Management
  • Own the project plans for active innovation initiatives, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and decisions from start to finish.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on Innovation & Sustainability priorities, ensuring accountability across functions.
  • Build and maintain program-level visibility tools including dashboards, trackers, and status reports.
  • Manage the intake process for new innovation concepts, supporting prioritization with structured analysis and clear documentation.
  • Support execution of the Framework for Innovation, keeping content current and organized.

2. Sustainability Program Management
  • Manage the project work associated with team's sustainability commitments, ESG programs, and green building certifications.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external partners to keep sustainability initiatives on schedule and within scope.
  • Support preparation of ESG reports, regulatory filings, and sustainability-related customer deliverables.
  • Track progress against sustainability goals and surface risks or blockers before they become problems.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional project meetings: own the agenda, capture decisions, distribute action items, and follow through.
  • Interface with Design, Delivery, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to manage dependencies and keep programs moving.
  • Ensure stakeholder views are integrated into project plans and that risks are clearly communicated to the right people at the right time.
  • Prepare status updates and briefings for the SVP and ELT, ensuring leaders always have accurate, timely information.

4. Content Development & Communications
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, risk logs, and decision registers.
  • Prepare project communications, status reports, and one-pagers for internal and external audiences.
  • Support development of thought leadership content, conference materials, and customer-facing innovation collateral using Microsoft 365, Canva, and similar tools.

5. Process & Program Improvement
  • Identify and implement improvements to how the Innovation & Sustainability team runs its programs.
  • Build and refine templates, playbooks, and processes that improve team velocity and reduce rework.
  • Apply team PMO standards and tools where applicable, and contribute to the broader PM community.
  • Ask why before building. Validate assumptions before committing resources.

Required Experience Needed
  • 5+ years of project management experience, including managing cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Background in construction, data centers, real estate, technology, or sustainability-adjacent industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to run complex programs where scope, schedule, and stakeholders are all moving.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in MS365 (SharePoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools (Smartsheet, Monday.com, or similar).
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks (ESG, carbon accounting, green building) is a plus.
  • Comfort using AI tools to improve personal and team productivity is strongly preferred.

Certifications / Licenses Required - (needed prior to starting, needed shortly after starting)
  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Sustainability, or a related field.

Driver’s License Requirement
For roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws.

Communication Skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
This position operates primarily in an active data center construction environment, encompassing both indoor and outdoor work settings. The role requires the physical ability to perform essential job functions safely and effectively in a dynamic environment that includes ongoing construction activity and evolving site conditions.
The work environment includes areas and temporary structures owned, leased, or controlled by third parties over which Overwatch may have limited or no control. Because the project remains under construction, certain areas of the site — including access routes, staging zones, and temporary structures — may not yet be fully ADA-compliant until construction is complete or those third-party areas are finalized.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.

Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in and around active construction areas, which may include unfinished buildings, temporary field offices, staging areas, and partially completed infrastructure. These locations may contain uneven surfaces, limited accessibility, and other conditions typical of construction projects prior to final completion. Overwatch does not control and cannot modify accessibility conditions within areas, facilities, or temporary structures owned or managed by third parties.

Reasonable Accommodation
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position, provided such accommodations do not create safety hazards, impede essential mobility within active work zones, or require modification of facilities not owned or controlled by Overwatch.

Benefits
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off. Relocation assistance is available to support candidates transitioning to the location.

OVERWATCH is committed to creating a diverse work environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. OVERWATCH considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexu

What We Do

The fifth industrial revolution is here, and it runs on data centers and the skilled labor who build and sustain them. Behind every AI breakthrough, cloud platform, and digital connection is a data center, and behind every data center are the people who build, commission, and operate them. By bringing blue-collar jobs back to the front lines of innovation, Overwatch(SDVOSB) is proving that the future of technology depends on human expertise as much as it does on machines. Your mission-critical journey starts and scales with us.
