Role description: The Project Manager II Leads multi-disciplinary Tech projects, working either as the main project manager or as a Tech project manager supporting a business project manager.  

Role accountabilities:

  • Own and manage demand for an agreed Arcadis Technology domain, such as Information Security, Global Workplace, Integration or another defined service area, acting as the primary coordination point between domain stakeholders and GTSO delivery. 
  • Manage assigned projects through the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resources, budgets, risks and communications are actively managed and transparent. 
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with Arcadis and Technology project management methodologies, templates, governance routines and ways of working. 
  • Prepare for and participate in project Steering Committee meetings, agreeing delivery approach, confirming decisions and maintaining clear escalation routes. 
  • Shape project demand with business and Technology stakeholders, influencing scope, budget, timelines and delivery approach during ideation, planning and risk mitigation.  
  • Engage the GTSO Architecture Team early to confirm design readiness, dependencies and assurance requirements before delivery commitments are made. 
  • Work closely with the Technology Program Manager, other Technology Project Managers and the Delivery Director to maintain alignment, delivery discipline and consistency across the GTSO portfolio. 
  • Coordinate delivery across Technology Towers and supporting functions, maintaining an integrated view of plans, dependencies and decisions, and escalating ownership gaps or constraints. 
  • Lead project teams to deliver agreed scope, budget, timeline, quality expectations and acceptance criteria, including ensuring solutions are appropriately tested and ready for release or handover. 
  • Partner with project sponsors and operational owners to define outcomes, track value through delivery, and confirm adoption, benefits and lessons learned after transition. 
  • Manage project budgets in partnership with budget owners, following relevant financial guidelines and proactively reporting key project parameters. 
  • Participate in relevant Technology service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Release, Configuration and Change Management, and Change Advisory Board activity where applicable. 
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies, applying sound risk management practices to improve project predictability and stakeholder confidence. 
  • Apply consistent project communications, documentation standards, governance controls and reporting routines to support effective decision-making and delivery transparency. 
  • Demonstrate stewardship for health, safety and wellbeing by setting clear expectations, leading by example, engaging project team members and supporting a caring, people-first Technology culture. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience managing IT projects in a complex Technology environment, with exposure to at least one of the following areas: cloud platforms, hosting or servers, networking or connectivity, IT service management, or collaboration tools such as Microsoft 365. 
  • Prince2, PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred, supported by practical experience applying structured delivery standards, governance routines and project controls. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • More than three years’ post-undergraduate experience in technology delivery, project management or a related discipline, with a track record of improving delivery performance and consistency. 
  • Strong knowledge of project delivery governance, performance management, stakeholder alignment, prioritisation, risk management and project controls across teams, projects or services. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders, oversee progress, resolve delivery challenges and drive improvements in delivery discipline and outcome predictability. 
  • Experience supporting implementation of policy and strategy within a service area, including governance, controls, performance tracking and consistent application of professional standards. 
  • Ability to contribute to resource allocation, budget management, quality expectations, efficiency and financial delivery in line with operational priorities. 
  • Experience applying quality and governance discipline, including review routines, documentation standards, controls, issue resolution and acceptance criteria. 
  • Experience supporting adoption and transition outcomes, including release readiness, hypercare, warranty obligations, support acceptance and post-handover change activities. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to maintain stakeholder confidence, manage escalation routes and provide clear reporting on delivery health, risks and decisions. 
  • Leadership style that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, capability development, professional standards and collaborative delivery in line with Arcadis values and expectations.
