As Project Manager II, you will work closely with the Executive Directors of Research Operations to manage project timelines, deliverables, reporting, and operational workflows that align with research administration and operational priorities. Responsibilities include end-to-end meeting coordination, scheduling cross-institutional meetings, preparing agendas and materials, tracking action items, coordinating travel and event logistics, and supporting financial planning and fund monitoring for research administrative operations. You will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives, process improvement, and workflow optimization to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with organizational requirements.
This role will be deeply involved in the development and implementation of the new operating model within Cleveland Clinic Research, contributing to a world-class research environment. The Project Manager will have the opportunity to help shape priorities, support decision-making, and drive initiatives that enhance operational excellence across the research enterprise.
A caregiver in this role works a hybrid schedule from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with three days on-site at Main Campus.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage all aspects of small projects or phases of larger projects.
Coordinate the activities of a project team under the direction of a Project Manager III or IV.
Achieve operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews.
Prepare and complete action plans.
Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
Resolve problems.
Completes audits and identify trends.
Determine system improvements and implement changes.
Meet financial objectives by participating in developing forecasting requirements.
Participate in preparing an annual budget and scheduling expenditures.
Analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field and three years of experience coordinating or managing various projects
OR High School Diploma/GED and seven years of experience
OR Associate’s Degree and five years of experience
OR Master’s Degree and two years of experience
Effective relationship building skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Project Management Certification (PMP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Excel, REDCap, PowerPoint, Forms, and Microsoft Project (or a comparable platform)
Research experience
Experience supporting projects (e.g., research, financial, or related initiatives)
Ability to adapt to change and remain flexible in a dynamic environment
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
Must have own transportation to travel to multiple sites.
