Aurora’s Command Center plays a critical role in enabling safe, reliable, and scalable commercial operations. As a Project Manager supporting Command Center Operations, you will independently lead cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance, introduce new capabilities, and support the continued evolution of Aurora’s commercial operations.

You will translate complex operational needs into structured project plans, align stakeholders across Operations, Product, Engineering, Safety, and other functions, and drive initiatives from problem definition through implementation and sustained adoption. This role requires strong judgment, operational understanding, and the ability to create structure, manage competing priorities, and drive measurable results in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

In this role, you will:
  • Independently lead moderately complex projects from definition through implementation, establishing scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, resource needs, and measures of success.

  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, balancing shifting priorities, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies to deliver against business objectives.

  • Use operational metrics, performance trends, and stakeholder feedback to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize work, and implement sustainable changes.

  • Lead cross-functional teams across Operations, Engineering, Safety, and other partners to define requirements, align ownership, resolve dependencies, and drive decisions and execution.

  • Proactively identify project risks and operational constraints, develop mitigation plans, and escalate material issues with clear recommendations and tradeoffs.

  • Develop and improve scalable processes, standard operating procedures, and operating mechanisms that strengthen Command Center reliability, effectiveness, and operational readiness.

  • Drive successful adoption of new technologies, tools, workflows, and operational capabilities through implementation planning, stakeholder communication, readiness, and post-launch evaluation.

  • Provide leadership with clear visibility into project progress, performance, risks, decisions, and outcomes, translating lessons learned into ongoing continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • Safety-focused, operationally minded, with the ability to understand interconnected systems and evaluate impacts across safety, engineering, operations, and customer outcomes.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, program management, operations, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or initiatives, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, resource constraints, and measures of success.

  • Strong problem-solving and situational judgment, with the ability to create structure in ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and determine when escalation is required.

  • An understanding of development operations and the ability to relate them to commercial operations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence, align, and gain cooperation from cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience using data, metrics, dashboards, or reporting tools to identify trends, inform decisions, and communicate project or operational performance.

  • Ability to work independently, create structure in ambiguous situations, and exercise sound judgment in time-critical environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, technology, logistics, transportation, or another operationally complex environment.

  • Experience supporting remote operations, teleoperations, operational technology deployments, product launches, or new capability rollouts.

  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel, or similar platforms.

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum, or similar project or process improvement certifications.

  • Technical fluency or familiarity with tools such as SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
