Introduction to role
The Project Manager will be delivering the implementation works on site. Leading the onsite works with the construction team and suppliers reporting directly into you. Working with design teams as well as the commercial and accounts teams. Will have experience of delivering onsite, will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver baggage system upgrade works.
Role Responsibilities
You will be flexible, self-reliant, driven, and will provide ownership in leading activities in the implementation process, ensuring the safety of the team and others, highest level of quality is maintained through to sign off, buildability, delivery to hand over to the customer, safety, quality, schedule and budget management is key . These activities could be (but not limited to); team management, integrated planning overviews, procurement requirements, commercial reporting, contractual input, financial reporting, strong stakeholder management and risk management. Leading by example through experience and good awareness.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
- Work with departments to create solutions, solve problems and ensure the project opportunity has support to perform as expected (to cost, time and quality). Identify deviations in projects, analyse potential problems, propose solutions and share with stakeholders.
- Motivate the team to complete project deliverables safely, on time, to budget and to the required quality standards
- Encourage and construct good coherent relationships and partnerships with project teams, external suppliers and subcontractors, internal business support functions and wider stakeholders - promoting project engagement and successful delivery against the project requirements and deliverables
- Contribute to the positive welfare of self and others
- Propose and contribute to measures that minimise Vanderlande’s impact on the environment
- Lead on perception and awareness for your team and how behaviours impact others. Ensuring that we put our best selves forward in a collaborative, engaging manner
- Contribute to helping the business to comprehend our customers’ business activities and logistic processes as fully as possible, so that we can provide solutions that help them to succeed and improve their competitiveness
- Be a trusted partner with our customers and stakeholders through effective and strong working relationships. Ensure that customer expectations are met or exceeded, whilst maintaining strong partnerships with our customer’s primary contractors
- Take ownership for line management duties, oversee packages of work, by planning, coordinating and leading individuals, groups, or external suppliers to deliver for the benefit of the project.
- Support to achieve high performance on all facets of project delivery such as HSEQ, project controls, commercial, contractual, legal, design, engineering, construction & install, commission, test, handover and benefits realisation, within the triple constraints of (cost, time and quality).
- Potential of Line management of Project Management team and/or project Coordinators, being the first point of escalation for your team. Monitor and control the output of work, whilst facilitating accurate forecasting and reporting on performance variables including resourcing requirements. Ensure support for commercial and contractual elements with your team and that they are managed accurately and in a timely manner and support in realising potential opportunities for change/ variations.
Role Qualification and Skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, relationships are an integral part of building a strong connection with our client and working closely with them to build trust, confidence and capabilities
- Formal project management qualification e.g. APM PMQ.
- Formal contract management qualification e.g. NEC3 or NEC4.
- Extensive health, safety & environment knowledge through training in e.g. CDM, IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS
- Demonstrable evidence of delivering complex projects.
- Experience of successful delivery on site.
