About Northern Trust

As a global leader in innovative wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking services, Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) is proud to guide the world’s most successful individuals, families, corporations and institutions.

Since 1889, we have aligned our efforts with our three guiding Principles That Endure: Service, Expertise, and Integrity. Together, they reflect the three cornerstones of business conduct which we strive to instill in our employees, whom we call partners, and to provide to our clients and the communities we serve worldwide.

With more than 135 years of financial experience and over 24,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.

About the Role

Investor Onboarding is undergoing a significant global transformation, creating an opportunity to help reshape how teams, platforms and processes support clients, controls, scale and measurable return on investment. The Project Manager will be responsible for translating this agenda into structured delivery across a Global Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation plan, capability delivery (including Fenergo, workflow and other technology solutions) and functional adoption of the future operating model across all impacted teams and regions.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who can bring order to complex change, connect activity across business, product, technology, operations and regional teams, and maintain clear governance from planning through adoption. Delivery will be informed by practical knowledge of investor onboarding, transfer agency, AML/KYC, investor data flows and regulatory considerations.

Opportunity for Impact

The role provides exposure to a high-priority global transformation programme, with responsibility for delivery discipline, value tracking and adoption outcomes:

  • Support a global Investor Onboarding transformation programme with senior stakeholder exposure.

  • Contribute to TOM planning, migration readiness, Fenergo delivery and operating model adoption.

  • Coordinate dependencies, risks, benefits and ROI indicators across business, product and technology workstreams.

  • Build experience in governance, change delivery, executive reporting and stakeholder management.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an organised, proactive project professional who can structure complex change, manage competing priorities and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams. They should be able to engage stakeholders across business, operations, product and technology and translate delivery detail into clear senior-level updates.

Experience in investor onboarding, transfer agency, AML/KYC, investor data flows, operations, financial services or technology transformation would be valuable. Candidates with relevant operations or technology experience who are looking to upskill into project management will also be considered. The core requirement is sound judgement, attention to detail, strong communication and the ability to support delivery of a global transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Governance

  • Deliver assigned projects or workstreams within agreed scope, timelines, quality and in line with Enterprise wide governance standards.

  • Support TOM implementation planning, including sequencing, readiness, adoption milestones and status tracking.

  • Manage cross-regional migration activity, including risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and stakeholder impacts.

  • Coordinate Fenergo and onboarding transformation delivery across business, product and technology teams.

  • Maintain project plans, RAID logs, actions, decisions and reporting materials.

  • Track progress, benefits, adoption and ROI indicators, escalating risks and issues where required.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with transformation, operations, technology, PMO and A&FS stakeholders to align delivery priorities and resolve dependencies.

  • Prepare clear updates for senior committees, leadership teams and business stakeholders.

  • Support collaboration, change adoption and consistent delivery practice across teams.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare, quality-check and maintain status reports, governance materials, dashboards and project documentation.

  • Support continuous improvement of templates, reporting frameworks and project processes.

Transformation Communications & Planning

  • Develop transformation communications and stakeholder materials that support progress updates, adoption and the broader change narrative.

  • Support planning, prioritisation and dependency management across the transformation portfolio.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of investor onboarding, transfer agency, AML/KYC, investor data flows and regulatory considerations is preferred.

  • Experience in project delivery, workstream management, TOM implementation, migration planning, system-enabled transformation, benefits tracking, ROI measurement or operating model adoption is beneficial.

  • Understanding of PMO governance, RAID management, stakeholder engagement, structured reporting and change delivery.

  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, including Excel and PowerPoint. Power BI, SharePoint, Aha! or Azure DevOps experience is beneficial.

  • Strong communication, analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).

  • Professional project management accreditation preferred but not essential.

This role offers a significant opportunity to shape a global transformation agenda, strengthen delivery governance and support measurable value realisation across Investor Onboarding. The successful candidate will help deliver TOM implementation, migration management, Fenergo transformation, ROI tracking and operating model adoption across regions.
