AMI is looking for an ambitious Project Manager to support the effective planning, coordination and execution of Ghana-based programmes, working closely under the supervision of a Senior Programme Manager and the Ghana Country Lead.

This role is central to the smooth delivery of virtual and in-person capacity building training, engaging with in-field stakeholders, managing logistics, and ensuring reporting is carried out to a high standard. GESI and Safeguarding are core to AMI delivery, and the successful candidate will bring knowledge of Ghana's regional realities, opportunities and challenges in the green economy sector.

One of the main projects run in Ghana is Green RISE Africa, requiring close collaboration with the wider AMI implementation team, including other project managers.

Travel across Ghana's districts might be expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management & Implementation

  • Support development and execution of detailed project plans against timelines

  • Own delivery of selected project tasks within the agreed workplan with the SPM and Partnership Director

  • Manage day-to-day project coordination: budget tracking, task tracking, deadline management

  • Coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders to align on milestones

  • Act as point of contact for local partners

Acumen Green RISE Project

  • Serve as local project manager for the Acumen Green RISE Africa project

  • Act as liaison between the internal implementation team and the local ecosystem

  • Work closely with the SPM assigned to the overall project for Ghana implementation

Event Coordination

  • Organise and support delivery of all in-person events in Ghana

  • Manage event logistics end-to-end

  • Serve as primary liaison with local vendors, venues and event staff

Stakeholder & Partner Liaison

  • Manage communication with programme speakers, coaches and facilitators

  • Act as point of contact for local implementing partners and ecosystem actors in Ghana

M&E Support

  • Coordinate field-level data collection, spot-checks and event feedback

  • Support basic data quality checks, escalating issues to the central team

  • Liaise between Ghana field activities and AMI's central M&E function

Reporting & Safeguarding

  • Draft and submit progress reports, field visit notes and project documentation

  • Maintain accurate project records

  • Uphold Safeguarding policies, flag breaches proactively, and feed back on cultural adaptation of policy

Administrative

  • General administrative support to the programme team

  • Support the country lead on local co-ordination of business development events

  • Support local impact story gathering

  • Provide up-to-date data and feedback for accurate, on-time reporting.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Development Studies, Project Management or a related field (required); Master's degree is a plus

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing projects, preferably in entrepreneurship development, SME support or skills development

  • At least 3 years' full-time work experience in Ghana, with a solid understanding of the local social enterprise and development ecosystem

  • Fluency in English and one Ghanaian language

  • Experience with donor-funded programmes, government agencies or multilateral organisations such as UNDP, Mastercard Foundation or GIZ is highly desirable

  • Experience working in peri-urban and rural districts of Ghana is a plus

  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery against milestones

  • Strong experience planning and executing both virtual and in-person events or learning programmes

  • Excellent project management skills including use of tools for task tracking, budget monitoring, and reporting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise reports and professional correspondence

  • Comfortable using digital platforms and tools such as Zoom, Google Workspace, Monday.com, and similar productivity and PM tools

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, with a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion mindset

  • Detail-oriented with strong data analysis capability and ability to use tools to work efficiently

  • Ability to provide up-to-date data and feedback on project progress to enable accurate and on-time reporting

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
