Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee custom electrical equipment projects from initial requirements through engineering, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and closeout. This role is ideal for an experienced project professional who can coordinate multiple teams, manage customer expectations, and keep complex manufacturing projects on schedule.

Power distribution industry experience is strongly relevant to this role.

Key Responsibilities

    • Lead projects through requirements capture, engineering, procurement, production, testing, shipment, and closeout.
    • Serve as a primary customer contact throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Coordinate activities across Sales, Application Engineering, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, and Logistics.
    • Build and maintain detailed project schedules and monitor critical milestones.
    • Establish achievable delivery dates based on material availability and production capacity.
    • Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain action-item tracking.
    • Manage customer change requests, engineering changes, and related schedule impacts.
    • Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
    • Identify project risks early and drive timely resolution.
    • Maintain project reporting, schedule information, and on-time delivery metrics.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining priorities and execution discipline.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
    • 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical environments.
    • Experience managing engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing projects.
    • Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material coordination.
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
    • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams.
    • Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer management skills.
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects at the same time.

Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with power distribution equipment such as switchgear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, or UPS systems.
    • PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
    • Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI, or related electrical industry standards.
    • Experience coordinating FATs and customer witness testing.
    • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
