Summary of Position
The purpose of this position is to increase the stewardship of The Summit Church resources through management of key projects, and assist ministries by removing structural and operational hindrances to the mission of our church. This person will help coordinate our work using our central project management tool (Asana), helping to keep our staff on the same page. The Project Manager will act as a liaison between central ministries and campuses involving scheduling, executing requests and aiding in the day-to-day processes of The Summit Church.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member
- Must manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, displaying a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability
- Understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge and the ability to execute the phases of a project
- Project management skills: planning, problem solving, highly organized, detail oriented, fast learner, excellent communication
- Proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Ability to meet deadlines in time sensitive situations
- Ability to provide active communication on projects
- Comfortable scheduling and leading stakeholder meetings throughout projects
Preferred, but NOT required
- Currently has a Project Management certification(s) or willing to pursue one
- Experience creating and maintaining project plans
- Experience working with Slack and/or Asana
- Familiarity or has understanding around change management processes
Responsibilities
- Ensure projects remain successful, on time and within the agreed-upon scope
- Ensure projects that have been assigned stay on task across departments
- Assist the Project Management Team with evaluating and mitigating risks and issues
- Provide project visibility to organizational leadership, key stakeholders, staff, as appropriate
- Provide regular updates to both central and campus teams on project status
- Assist the Project Management Team Lead with recommendations to the Leadership Team on what is coming and the plans to execute.
Churchwide Events
The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.
Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
