Job Purpose:
The Project Manager is responsible and accountable for the end-to-end delivery of assigned business, technology and transformation projects, ensuring that they are delivered within agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards, while achieving the intended business outcomes and benefits.
The role requires strong delivery leadership, stakeholder management, planning, governance, risk management and execution discipline. The Project Manager works closely with sponsors, business teams, technology teams, vendors and other stakeholders to create clarity, drive accountability and ensure successful implementation and adoption.
About the Role:
This is a delivery role for an experienced Project Manager who can lead cross-functional teams, navigate complexity, manage risks and dependencies and influence stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority. The role is suited to someone who is structured, pragmatic, outcome-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced transformation environment.
In this role you will:
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead assigned projects across the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, implementation, stabilisation and closure;
- Collaborate with sponsors and relevant stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, success criteria, assumptions, constraints and dependencies;
- Develop and maintain realistic project plans, implementation roadmaps, milestones and delivery schedules with input from subject matter experts and delivery teams;
- Translate business objectives and strategic priorities into executable delivery plans with clear ownership, timelines and expected outcomes;
- Coordinate project activities across business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, finance, vendor and other relevant teams;
- Monitor progress against approved baselines and take proactive action to keep delivery on track;
- Ensure projects remain aligned with business priorities and continue to deliver the intended outcomes and benefits.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Build trusted relationships with project sponsors, senior stakeholders, business owners, technology teams, vendors and subject matter experts;
- Manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle through clear communication, transparency and timely escalation;
- Prepare and present concise, accurate and executive-ready project updates, dashboards, steering committee packs and decision papers;
- Facilitate governance forums, working groups and project meetings to ensure alignment, decision-making and issue resolution;
- Challenge unclear requirements, unrealistic timelines, unvalidated assumptions and misaligned priorities in a constructive and professional manner;
- Ensure stakeholders understand project progress, key risks, issues, dependencies, decisions required and potential impact on outcomes.
Risk, Issue, Dependency & Change Management
- Identify, assess, monitor and manage project risks proactively throughout delivery;
- Develop mitigation plans, contingency actions and recovery options where required;
- Drive timely resolution of project issues, blockers and escalations;
- Manage interdependencies across projects, teams, systems, vendors and business areas;
- Assess the impact of scope changes, emerging priorities, resource constraints and delivery risks on timelines, budget, quality and benefits;
- Maintain appropriate control over project changes, ensuring that decisions are documented, approved and communicated.
Resource & Budget Management
- Collaborate with business, technology, resource managers and vendors to secure and optimise the resources required for delivery;
- Identify resource constraints, capacity risks and skill gaps, and propose practical mitigation options;
- Support project budgeting, forecasting, financial tracking and cost control activities;
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and escalate financial risks early;
- Ensure effective utilisation of internal and external resources while minimising delivery inefficiencies and avoidable management overheads.
Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Coordinate delivery activities involving vendors, implementation partners, consultants and other third parties;
- Monitor vendor deliverables, commitments, dependencies, quality and delivery performance.Support vendor governance discussions and escalation of delivery concerns where required;
- Work with relevant teams to ensure vendor contributions are aligned with project objectives, timelines and quality expectations.
Quality Assurance, Implementation & Business Readiness
- Ensure project deliverables are reviewed, validated and meet agreed quality standards throughout the project life cycle;
- Coordinate testing, implementation readiness, operational readiness, cutover planning and post live support activities;
- Work with business stakeholders to support change readiness, communications, training, adoption and transition into business-as-usual operations;
- Ensure quality assurance steps are followed before rollout to minimise negative impact on customers, employees, operations, systems and reputation;
- Capture lessons learned and ensure relevant actions are considered for future delivery improvements.
Methodology, Governance & Ways of Working; - Apply the most appropriate delivery approach for each project, including Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid methodologies depending on project context and organisational needs;
- Ensure adherence to project governance standards, PMO methodology, documentation requirements and reporting cycles;
- Maintain project information, delivery metrics, risks, issues, decisions and documentation in the approved project portfolio management tool and repository;
- Ensure project updates are captured promptly, whenever material changes occur and at minimum in line with agreed PMO reporting cadence;
- Promote clarity, accountability, transparency and disciplined ways of working across project teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management standards, templates, tools, governance practices and delivery methods;
- Share lessons learned, good practices and practical recommendations with the PMO and project management community;
- Support the adoption of improved ways of working that enhance delivery effectiveness, stakeholder confidence and project outcomes.

We are looking for candidates who have a minimum of:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Finance, Management or a related discipline;
- Professional project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification is highly desirable;
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing business, technology, transformation, operational, regulatory or strategic projects;
- Proven track record of delivering medium to large-scale projects within a structured governance environment;
- Experience working with senior stakeholders, project sponsors, cross-functional teams and external vendors;
- Experience managing project plans, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, governance forums, reporting and implementation readiness;
- Experience in banking, financial services, consulting, technology or large enterprise transformation environments will be an advantage.
You will also be required to demonstrate:
- Strong project planning, scheduling, execution and delivery management skills;
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, influencing and presentation skills;
- Strong risk, issue, dependency and change management capabilities;
- Good understanding of project governance, budgeting, vendor management and delivery reporting;
- Ability to lead and motivate teams without direct reporting authority;
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and results orientation;
- Working knowledge of project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Planview, Microsoft 365 or equivalent platforms;
- Demonstrated understanding of AI capabilities and the ability to leverage AI tools through effective prompt engineering to improve productivity, decision-making and delivery outcomes;
- High level of professionalism, accountability, adaptability and resilience.
