Job Description

About the Role

Etihad Cargo is entering an exciting phase of growth as we expand our global cargo network and strengthen strategic partnerships across Asia Pacific.

We are looking for a commercially minded Project Manager to lead regional cargo development initiatives that support network expansion, strategic partnerships and cross-border business growth. Based in Hong Kong, you will act as the regional counterpart to our Abu Dhabi-based project management team, partnering with stakeholders across the Cargo organization to identify opportunities, deliver strategic projects and help shape the future of our Asia Pacific cargo network.

This is a highly collaborative role that combines project management, commercial thinking and stakeholder engagement. You will work closely with Country Managers, regional commercial teams and airline partners to develop innovative cargo solutions, optimize regional connectivity and support Etihad Cargo’s long-term growth strategy.

If you thrive in a fast-paced international environment and enjoy turning complex commercial opportunities into successful business outcomes, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

As Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead regional strategic projects that support the continued growth and expansion of Etihad Cargo across Asia Pacific.
  • Partner with Country Managers, Commercial teams and Cargo leadership to identify opportunities that improve network connectivity, operational efficiency and commercial performance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives between regional teams and the Abu Dhabi headquarters, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and aligned with global priorities.
  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new cargo partnerships, interline opportunities and joint venture initiatives across the region.
  • Develop business cases, project plans, governance frameworks and implementation roadmaps for strategic initiatives.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, influencing outcomes across multiple countries, cultures and business functions.
  • Monitor project performance and ensure agreed milestones, budgets and deliverables are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities to improve regional processes and introduce best practices that enhance commercial performance.
  • Travel across the Asia Pacific region as required to support project delivery, stakeholder engagement and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the airline or air cargo industry.
  • Experience working across the Asia Pacific region rather than within a single country market.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional commercial or strategic projects.
  • Background in cargo, network planning, business development, commercial strategy, alliance management or regional project management.
  • Strong understanding of airline partnerships, cargo operations and regional aviation markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Excellent analytical, planning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience developing business cases, coordinating multiple stakeholders and delivering projects to agreed timelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Aviation, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related discipline.
  • Formal project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) would be advantageous but are not essential.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin are essential.
  • Willingness to undertake regional travel (approximately 6-7 trips annually).
