How you’ll make an impact in this role

The Project Manager – Capital Works will play a key role in delivering the $120 million East Wing redevelopment at Cabrini Hospital, alongside ward refurbishments, emergency department upgrades and other major infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Capital Works Director, you will coordinate construction-related activities, lead smaller capital projects, manage stakeholder engagement and oversee procurement, commissioning and operational readiness to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to hospital operations.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of major capital works projects, including the East Wing redevelopment and associated hospital upgrades.

  • Leading assigned minor capital projects and coordinate project activities across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Managing FF&E procurement, supplier coordination, delivery and installation in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Building strong relationships with hospital departments, contractors and project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Coordinating commissioning, inspections, relocation planning and operational readiness activities for new and refurbished facilities.

  • Monitoring project risks, budgets, compliance and documentation to ensure projects meet governance, regulatory and operational requirements.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or experience in project management, construction management, health service planning or a related discipline.

  • Experience in health sector essential

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or delivering capital works or construction projects.

  • Experience managing procurement processes, supplier coordination and project delivery activities.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build relationships across complex environments.

  • Sound understanding of project governance, compliance, regulatory requirements and all stages of the project lifecycle.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively within a team
